Ledger Live Desktop Setup Guide

Download & Installation 🚀

1. Navigate to the **official Ledger website** and find the download page for Ledger Live. **Verify the URL** for security.
2. Select the correct operating system version (Windows, macOS, or Linux) and **download the installer file**.
3. **Run the downloaded file** to start the installation process. Follow the on-screen prompts for file location and shortcuts.
4. Once the installation concludes, **launch the Ledger Live application**.

Important Security Tip: Always download software directly from the official Ledger source. Never use links from emails or unverified websites.

5. Upon first launch, you'll be greeted with the welcome screen. Choose **"Get started"** or **"Initialize as a new device"**.
6. **Connect your Ledger device** (e.g., Nano S Plus or Nano X) to your computer using the provided USB cable.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to **set up your device**—this involves setting a PIN and writing down your 24-word recovery phrase.
Note: If your Ledger device is already set up, the application will prompt you to **unlock it** with your PIN.
8. Ledger Live will perform a **"Genuine Check"** to ensure your hardware wallet is authentic and secure. Confirm the unique code displayed on both your computer screen and the device screen.

9. Once connected, navigate to the **"Manager"** tab within Ledger Live.
10. You must **install the required crypto applications** (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) onto your physical Ledger device from the Manager.
11. Go to the **"Accounts"** section and click **"Add account"**. Select the currency, and the software will synchronize with your hardware wallet to create the account.
12. You are now ready to **receive, send, or swap** crypto directly through the Ledger Live interface. All transactions must be **validated physically** on your Ledger device.
